AIMS Primary Activities
There are not a lot of lesson plans on this site but the ones that are here are interdisciplinary, comprehensive, creative and worth checking out. Elementary students and teachers will enjoy these science and math activities.

A wonderful resource for K-12 teachers this site offers hundreds of lesson plans in math, science, social studies and language arts. The plans include overviews, procedures and follow-up.

 • Discovery Channel Lesson Plans
The Discovery Channel offers exciting, media-based lessons in science, history, literature and other subjects for grades K-12. Lessons are developed based on videos and shows which can be recorded, though many lessons can be taught without the shows.

 • Geography Education: National Geographic
The geography education resource of National Geographic. Site offers an education division, a faculty forum, the Geographic Alliance Network, classroom ideas, a students' forum plus other resources for teaching geography.

 • Going to a Museum
Are you planning any museum trips for your K-12 students? Use these lessons in science, art and other subjects to enhance your field trips. The museums listed are in Virginia and Washington, D.C., but the lessons can be adapted to museums in your area.

 •Judi Harris' Educational Activity Collection

Rhode Island teachers have compiled these thematic lessons called Smart Projects that integrate science, math, computers and language arts for K-12 teachers and students. Children will learn by solving real-world mysteries and problems.

 • Smithsonian Institute: Lesson Plans
The Smithsonian's publication for upper elementary teachers. Contains lesson plans for arts, language arts, science and social studies. Topics covered include art, plant life, space sciences, political and social history and others.

 •Teachnet Lesson Plans
Teachnet offers some creative lessons for K-12 students in which they can learn math and economics by using credit cards, use the Internet to create art and more. Check out the general ideas for bringing music, spelling and science into your classroom.

 • USC Thematic Units for Primary Grades
Elementary school teachers have created these wonderful thematic units on history and science topics such as ancient Egypt, Native Americans and our solar system. All lessons include literature, hands-on exercises and teacher resources.

 • World Wise Schools Lesson Plans
The Peace Corps offers these thematic units for teachers working with students in grades K-12. Students can compare teenagers' lives in several countries, promote environmental awareness or engage in other multicultural, creative activities.
