Transportation and Health Access Coalition

Formed in order to address the unique transportation and health access needs of rural communities such as Acampo.  Major topics discussed are the need for regular public transportation to health care providers in Lodi and Stockton and the need for a resource guide which can facilitate location and types of services available to our community.
 

San Joaquin Reads Program

Book Bag Project:  Provides free book bags for books that are sent home with all kindergarteners in order to promote an early desire for children to learn to read. Parents are enlisted as partners in helping their children develop a love for reading.
 

Keys for your Future Parents Kits:  Provides free book bags containing reading materials that are sent home with all 1st Graders.  Provides useful information that helps their parents become actively engaged in their student’s education.
 
 

University of California Early Academic Outreach Program

The University of California University, EAOP program provides outreach staff to schools. They present information about college preparedness and help students understand college enrollment processes, such as financial aide, college requirements etc.

Students Reaching Out Substance Abuse Prevention Program

A program of People Reaching Out which provides youth substance abuse prevention programs to schools.  Galt High School Students make presentation to elementary and middle school classrooms and discuss issues concerning drug and alcohol use.

Galt Adult Education/Galt Joint Union High School District 

Free Adult ESL Classes- Fall Semester 2002

Beginning and intermediate ESL sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays at Oak View School.  Both beginning and intermediate ESL classes begin at 5:00 and end at 8:00.

Enrollment is ongoing. 

Child care for children from ages 4 to 12 is provided in addition to instructional help with homework for children.
